Making comments about problems with a car is the new normal for leading teams and drivers. Last 5 years if you listened to Hamilton and Toto, they probably had the slowest car on the grid. Sometimes Ferrari was faster and sometimes red bull was faster. If we take these comments too seriously then we will only end up making fools of ourselves. Let us rely on data. Data says Perez was faster, period. Let us look forward to an exciting race.11-06-2022 22:22

It is amazing that the driver that finished 5th has performed so well and the driver that outqualified him and finished on the podium does not get much of a mention. Last 2 seasons seem to be enforcing the fact that Mercedes is Hamilton's team. He is only unlucky because he was not in a position to take advantage of the bad luck of other drivers. This had to do with his qualifying position that out him in harm's way. Now I wonder who was responsible for his qualifying position, it must be Michael Masi as Lewis doesn't make mistakes.23-05-2022 04:22

It is increasingly looking like there's a plan to give Lewis the Championship. This is a stupid decision. FIA and the stewards have been handing penalties to Red Bull, slowing down their engines, increasing their pitstop timings and ignoring possible engine infringement from the Mercs. Next year with George in, Lewis has no chance of winning any more championship, so this is clearly his last hurrah.12-09-2021 18:59

It is still too early to write him off. A combination of a solid start and clever strategy can put him within touching distance of Max, if not ahead. As we saw in Silverstone, Lewis is a lot more committed in the main race than in the Sprint and we will definitely see a far more focussed and hungry Hamilton in the race. They have the pace and I will put my money on Hamilton for the win.12-09-2021 09:49

Agreed. Perez has not really covered himself in glory since being confirmed as a Red Bull driver this year. Qualifying this year has not been his strong point, this putting him out of contention very early in races.12-09-2021 09:45

What a contrast from last year when the whole grid was complaining about engine modes and the Mercedes were laughing all the way to victories !! I suspect that while Hamster and Wolf are complaining about bendy wings and engine power, Red Bull are probably smiling that their attention is in the wrong place. Understand that this is a very new situation for Hamilton. He is not used to being under pressure so he is trying desperately to blame it on any possible factor except pure development capability and racecraft. Hamilton needs to start speaking less and focus on improving his performances on track. Just because he is faster than Bottas doesn't necessarily mean that he is doing his best. Maybe he is leaving a few tenths on the table and we can't really see it. We all saw what happened when Bottas racer with Russell last year.28-06-2021 10:29

Perez's comment after Verstappen passed him was golden " Tell him to push. Let's get them." If that doesn't show teamwork at its best, then I don't know what does. There seems to be a great friendly vibe developing between these two. Still early days and will be interesting to see how it develops under different scenarios.25-06-2021 06:26

It is really interesting to watch as to how long can money pull a guy through F1. It clearly helps as Mr Mazepin has gone through 6 races and Mr Steiner jumps in to defend him everytime he does something stupid. Haas and Steiner are showing themselves really poorly and in the process dragging the reputation of F1 down.08-06-2021 07:17

If you just listen to Tito's comments last year, you would think that Mercedes was the slowest car in F1 and get wing side of the stick and if you listen to Hamilton fans, you would think that Mercedes had a really admire car in 2018 and 2019 and it was sheer will of Hamilton to that won him those Championship. There's no point arguing, they won't listen to you.06-06-2021 20:32

Hamilton should love Toto. I like how he said "finger problem". It wasn't Hamilton, it was his finger. While poor Bottas even gets blamed for tyres getting stuck. Team is not behind Bottas, and can't expect to improve much from here.06-06-2021 20:27
